Part 1

Gunner Hearts
An outstanding rail shooter shmup style game similar to Starfox. What makes the game so great are the features. You can play 2 player or even with a computer. There is also a shop system where different weapons can be bought, also even in game goodies such as extra mode or more credits. The story mode for the game is quite good. Gunners Heart is a keeper and quite enjoyable.





AngerAze
AngerAze is a horizontal shooter. The levels are really well designed, and the variety of characters you can play as is good. You can shoot behind you as well as in front of you too. The enemies are also well designed, and the length of the game is good. This game has Internet Ranking, but does not seem to work. If anyone has figured out how to make it work please PM me on the forums. All in all a very good Shoot 'em Up. AngerAze also has a sequel: AngerAze 2.





Angeraze2 Rebirth
A extremely well made horizontal shmup game. The game has a similar theme of the Touhou games, where there is missile madness and character sized bosses. The game is high quality in sprite, animated back grounds and surprising in game video menus. An excellent game that looks almost like a commercial console game, a must have for any shmup fan.





Engage to Jabberwock
This game is a Dungeon explorer / Shoot 'em 'Up with RPG elements thrown in. It is not one of the longest games around, but it is definetly fun. You must battle through rooms full of enemies that shoot projectiles at you, and open various doors and passages. This is a good game to kill time if you are bored.





Recettear
Recettear is a beautiful RPG from EGS. The graphics are wonderful and the sound is great. This game could fool you in to thinking that it was a commercial RPG. The game is sort of the same style as Chantelise, except from a different view point. You can do all the normal things you can do in RPG's, buy swords, talk to citizens etc etc. The only thing is if you can't read Japanese, you won't get very far with it.




Tomoyo Fighter Plus
Tomoyo Fighter Plus is a very good game that is much in the style of games such as Streets of Rage. The graphics are very nice and old skool, the character design is great, sound is very good, and on a whole it is quite a deep game. The only bad thing is that you have to spend quite a bit of time setting the controls up.




Part 2

Fight Kutte Night
Fight Kutte Night is a side scrolling adventure game. Think of it as a Fate/Stay Night meets Street Fighter, sort of. You can collect various objects as you progress, there are 2 characters you can play as, the sprites are well done, the music is good, the levels are well designed. This is an all round good game.




Guardian Heroines Final
This game is the sequal to Guardian Heroines. It features more characters, new levels, new enemies, and much more. Below is the description from Guardian Heroines, they both play the same way, so there is no need to alter anything.

Every played Guardian Heroes on the Sega Saturn? If you have, you will know what this game is like even without playing it. For those of you who havn't, this is what it is. There is a Story mode, and a Battle / practice mode. Story is the better of the two, because some of the levels are just amazing.

You can pick a variety of different characters, mainly girls, hence the name Guardian HEROINES. You fight multiple enemies at one time, and can switch between layers on the level. There are lots of different moves to pull off, and the level design and enemies are really cute. The action is also very smooth and fast. Very very good game, if anything you need to download this.

Karnonix
This is a cute platformer based on Kanon. It features cute characters, enemies, and stages. Although pretty basic in gameplay (Jump, and punch, and.... Well... That's it..), it is still pretty fun to play. Not much else to say on this game, but you may aswell try it out.




Lilian Fourhand
This is a great game created by French Bread (who also created Ragnarok Battle offline). It is a side scrolling adventure/shoot 'em up. You play as 2 characters, who come across lots of different enemies, (both cool and strange). The graphics are really nice, and the gameplay flows really well. You can also shot behind you as well as in front of you, just in case any enemies do sneak up behind you. Overall a really fun game to play.




Duo Princess
This is an adventure gaming, featuring the characters from Squaresoft's Threads of Fate RPG for the PSX. It is one or 2 player, and is really fun to play. The 2D sprites merged with the 3D background works really well, and the level design is brilliant. You get to choose from either 2 characters at the start, both with different attacks. This is a really great game. Get this!




Rosenkreuzstilette
Rosenkreuzstilette is a side scrolling adventure game, that is both very well designed and thought out. You can choose which girl you want to save out of 8 different girls, and each one has their own adventure. The game is quite hard at some points and does include some hard thinking sometimes. The music is great and the sprites are very nice. This is one of the better doujin adventure games.






Part 3

Crescent Pale Mist
One of the best side scrolling shmup game ive ever played. Very unique and extremely fun! The missiles and animation in this game is eye candy. Various attack skills are used from different forms of energy. After playing awhile you may noticed and learned the game play has some interesting concepts.The boss fights are epic and jaw dropping. Seriously this is a must have and must played for any one. Rare Gem.





Bike Banditz
One of the most entertaining shmup game ive played on PC. Made by French-Bread, the same company who made Ragnarok Battle Offline. The difficulty for this game is not too hard and not too easy. The graphics is very well made, almost cartoon/anime like with the thick black boarders. They have a interesting point system where shapes of items are collected in order to achieve higher points.The levels are amazingly fun, from fighting unique bosses to dealing with a battleship behind ur tail. An awesome game that shouldnt be missed.





BloodOver

This is a really fun game that just came out at Comiket 70. It is a side scrolling action adventure game, where you play the role as 2 girls armed with guns. The action is very cool, and the attacks are sweet too. This game has really good level design, as well as enemy design. This game reminds me a lot of Crescent Pale Mist, except with guns and more 3D. You may also save replays. Also has a great OST. Enjoy.
